Ready for your next career move?
As your career evolves, we’re here with you on your journey.
People are at the centre of everything we do. We don’t just place people into jobs but invest in lifelong partnerships that empower you to realise your ambition. We’re backed by over 50 years of success, and a workforce of over 10,000 people across 33 countries. Being so much more than just a specialist recruitment business, what really set us apart is our knowledge through scale, deep understanding, and ability to meet your needs – wherever you are in your career journey.
Why we’re changing, adapting, and Working for your tomorrow
Coined ‘the new era of work’ – the workplace in 2022 is very different from what any of us imagined it would be like ten or even five years ago. The pace of change continues to accelerate as our customers and organisations find new ways of working, better ways to work with technology and a new sense of giving back to the communities we work amongst.
Digital transformation has been underway for a number of years – and the pandemic was a catalyst that propelled many businesses forward on this journey. Alongside this, many organisations have had to make sense of and adapt to legislation changes such as GDPR, IR35 and the knock-on effects of Brexit. Plus, this year alone we’ve seen record job vacancies across the UK and Ireland, severe talent shortages and inflationary pressures on businesses.
As the leader in specialist recruitment and workforce solutions we have been partners to our customers in leading them through these changes, ensuring our clients have the talent they need to achieve their business goals and our candidates have the opportunities they need to build their careers. To continue to do this successfully, we’re evolving too. We’ve been working hard over the past year to bring our new proposition to life, and we’re excited to be able to take you - our customers - on this journey with us.
To start with, our new positioning of ‘Working for your tomorrow’ is our promise to our customers that as a leadership partner, we have the insights, market knowledge, services and tools to help you achieve your goals today and in the future.
Several years ago, we communicated to the market that our vision was to be lifelong partners to our candidate customers. Our commitment to building long-lasting relationships is a key priority when it comes to investing in our candidate community, helping them to achieve their career ambitions, no matter where they are in their journey. We’ve developed new tools including My Learning and our refreshed Hays App, launching this autumn, whilst we’ve elevated specific services to help people navigate their careers with ease. All with our support to guide them on that journey.
As the pace of change shows no sign of slowing – we recognise that our customer (both employers and candidates) needs are regularly evolving – and as a business we want to ensure we’re uniquely positioned to best lead and support you through today and tomorrow.
Our new positioning emphasises that people are at the heart of our business – and that we care about the success of organisations and people’s careers.
In achieving this, we’re looking ahead as we build a footprint in the green and sustainability markets, to help those businesses investing in their sustainability credentials or making a difference to the environment. With the government’s ambition to create two million green jobs by 2030, encouraging the next generation to consider a career under this remit, is equally as important.
Digital transformation hasn’t gone away either, so as we support organisations with the technology talent they need to grow, we’re scaling our investment in tech and developing our expertise in areas such as Salesforce, Workday, data, cyber security and more. We also want to inform and educate by sharing stories of the career paths you can take in technology, and the various routes to success in our popular podcast ‘How did you get that job?’.
Supporting the UK’s education sector is pivotal for us too and we’re always thinking outside the box about how we can help, as well as inspire the next generation. As such we recently launched Inspire, a free-of-charge learning programme that will provide pupils with an informative and realistic insight into possible career pathways, with advice from leading employers regarding the skills needed to succeed in the future. We work with over 4,000 schools across the UK – so the potential of our offering is huge.
Sustainability, education and technology are just some examples that make up our promise of working for the UK’s tomorrow, by helping to support businesses with their future talent needs. Data from our UK Salary Guide 2022, shows that 86% of businesses experienced skills shortages in 2021 – and the need is only growing for skilled talent across a range of industries.
Furthermore, aligning to our workforce solutions offering, we’re already supporting businesses with employer branding, sustainability and ED&I services to name just a few.
We haven’t just changed our approach overnight. We’ve listened to our staff, leaders across our UK&I and global business – but most importantly we’ve listened to our customers’ feedback. We’re making our services, values, offerings and solutions much easier to navigate by consolidating all of our sub-brands, simplifying our structure and revamping our brand messaging – communicating everything under the one Hays brand.
Whilst our look, feel and delivery has changed, our commitment remains the same - to helping both people and businesses succeed. Working for your tomorrow we will continue to provide advice, the latest insights and expertise on issues you face today, to help you make the right decisions for tomorrow.
